The Focus RS World Rally Car, which powered Ford to the manufacturers' world title in both 2006 and 2007, has been given new duds for 2008. The new color scheme was unveiled at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham and reflect's Ford's first full season of partnership with petroleum company BP and the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.

That looks nice, but why aren't they using the facelift lights and grille...?![]()

Um....yuck. The paint scheme really just doesn't look good to me, but I'm sure its performance will make up for any shortcomings the painters brought to the table.

Can't see the tail lights with the stacked spoiler in the way. Not sure how it can compete in the tarmac stages (which requires visible lights).

It was actually BF Goodrich. The FIA seems to have something against anything Michelin, who owns BF Goodrich, ever since what happened at the USGP. lol

because $100,000++ for a used wrc is still 'kinda steep' ?

I was expecting to see the facelifted front on the rally car too. How odd...![]()
Edit: Oh and they changed to Pirellis. Actually, wasn't Pirelli away for a while.
BTW, funny how last year Ford ran BFGoodriches on gravel and asphalt and on snow they used Michelins. In reality, as both brands are under the same group, they just renamed Michelins to BFGoodriches in everything else but snow rallies.

Pirelli has become the sole supplier to WRC per the FIA. I think the tire wars (and competition in racing overall) is nothing but a plus for us consumers and don't like how the FIA seems to be taking much of the innovation out of racing.
