Thread: Best Car Blog, Final Round: This Week's Bracket Competition

  1. 02-20-2008 12:06 PM #1
This week's bracket slugfest is a bit different. There's no competing marque or model, rather the car blogs we all know. If you've got a favorite, make sure to weigh in. I'd bet opinions on some of these sites are about as conversational as the opinions of these site.

    Check out the competition here...

TCL is a bunch of traitorous bastards! Don't you know that Tom writes for CR's blog? This Bracket, Vote for Tom.

No Dubspeed Driven? I guess it's not really a blog site, though.

Im going for Jalopnik all they way cuz I'm so underground-car-cool.

Actually... I just like it the best.

How come Motive isnt on the list?

Im going to vote autoblog as long as I can, though to be honest the only other blog I've ever read here is jalopnik, which seems to do a good job too.

I hate autoblog even though I check it everyday. The writing is just painful half of the time.

I think Motor Authority does the best job. They break many of the news stories first, and their writing is clear and concise, every time.

Round One is over and done. Let's see who had to bite the curb:

    eGMCarTech

    Autospies

    Muscle Car Blog

    Consumer Reports (Sorry, Tom!)

    Left Lane News

    Motor Authority

    The Truth About Cars

    Cars.com

The pairings for this round are Jalopnik vs. Edmunds / Hemmings vs. World Car Fans, and Autoblog vs. CarDomain / Winding Road vs. Motor Trend

Considering it's possible to edit polls, there's just a little conflict of interest.

    autoblog ftw?

Should have been. They are hands down the best automotive blog out there when it comes to breaking news.

  22. 02-25-2008 12:30 PM #22
Let's hear it for rallying the troops: The "best automotive blog" competition has come down to Hemmings versus CarDomain. Jalopnik and Autoblog were both knocked out.

Care to stack the deck even further? Go here to vote: http://forums.motivemag.com/zeroforum?id=1048

I don't know, Ray, but I heard the new management there is in an epic battle of wills with Mayor McCheese or something.

Have you noticed how many people with one vote are chiming in for CarDomain?

The democratic process doesn't necessarily have to be fair, balanced, or reward virtue.

If there's one thing Ricers, Eurosnobs, and the Mullet crew can agree on, it's that CarDomain is the perfect place to post pictures of their crappy cars.
