Nissan Cube EV with wierd wheels and body kit. No specs yet, but that's OK. I'll take one in chartreuse green, BBS wheels, and the regular body kit, thanks, and make it snappy.

Edit: ah, I took it too literally. Like it says on the side of the car, denki jidosha (電気自動車) is the standard Japanese phrase for an electric vehicle.

Nissan's box on wheels, the Cube, will be getting an electric treatment for this year's New York Auto Show.

The Denki (meaning "electric" in Japanese) Cube will sport a different design treatment inside and out, touting it's electric drivetrain. The most prevalent of those is the front grill, featuring electric bolts as inlets. But hey, when you have an electric motor, you don't need to worry about functionality of your grill, anyway.

Official details will be released at the car's expected unveiling tomorrow.

I'd like it better if it had a whole ton of weird symbols in the grille, instead of just one (like that Iriver MP3 player with a chicken-goat and stuff), but it's pretty neat as-is.

Man, that'd rock. Maybe a bunch of symbols from circuit diagrams? Or a big interconnected circuit diagram cut into the grille, representing the EV drivetrain?

    That'd friggin' rock!

The steering wheel is a little funky, but I wouldn't kick it to the curb.

I wonder if it lights up? Maybe it flashes to the beat of the J-Pop on the radio?

If this thing comes in manual with good gas mileage, I'm ditching my TSX for it

lol @ the gatorade lightning bolts on the grill.

Oh child. You're all sorts of mixed up.

I like the Cube - likely because of the asymmetry.
Past/Current: Buick, Mitsubishi, Geo, Chrysler, Dodge, Porsche, Land Rover, VW, Nissan, Cadillac, Ford, GMC
Future: Alfa Romeo GTV, Lotus Esprit, Audi TT, 240Z, Lancer Evo VIII RS, Lancia Delta Integrale Evo II,
Hudson Hornet, Porsche 964, Mini Cooper, Caterham SV, M-B CLS63 AMG, Lambo Miura SV

i like the asymmetry of the grill too.

new wheels and we's in business. slam it on some 10" wide RS's

  27. 03-19-2008 01:13 AM #27
I don't like the body kit at all.

TCL got strange taste if you like little lightning bolts as the grill and square rims.

If they do produce this, The Volt maybe in trouble.

Very cool. Though the grill and wheel covers are a but too much for me. But hey, that's what these crazy electric-car / lifestyle vehicle concepts are supposed to be.

Imagine it in candy white with bronze BBS LM's, then, with a mesh grille. See? Wawawewa.
