Wow, that's a pretty hefty update. Props for bringing back the light strip on the C4's, here's hoping the updated models are as hot as the current ones.996 C4S, for reference:

In before the "engine's in the wrong spot" brigade!Very nice upgrades. Best of all is that it will devalue the early 997's which will be a bargain in another few years the way early 996 cars are now.

Can't wait to see what the lightstrip looks like in person!

About time porsche introced PDK to replace the standard automatic... heck they invented it what, like 20 years ago?

I totally missed the PDK thing (didn't realize what it meant). More awesome![]()

The power and torque bumps are impressive for a mid-model refresh like that. It's GREAT to see them finally bringing PDK to market. (Though it will be interesting to see how it's programmed compared to DSG.)
I am very glad that they're going to bring back the red light strip for the C4 models - that was much missed.
But the thing that really staggers me?

.Standard xenon headlights on the base models!!!11!one1! Jesus, Porsche, welcome to the party - it took you long enough!

I wonder how a 911 turbo or GT3 with PDK would fare against the GT-R in a rematch?
#20
as with all previous 911s, I'm sure all the small tweaks will add up to make a big differencelooking forward to seeing the new styling accents

I thought that they were always standard (at least for the 997 generation).

Mmmmm, a 997 Carrera stripper in Cobalt blue would be sick! With a standard 345hp, you're just 10 shy of what the old S was!And that 7 speed sounds sick.
LSD appears to be only for AWD models?
Great upgrades! Bog standard Carrera sounds like a hell of a package right out of the box.

Oh, ok, so porsche's version of "DSG" then. Funny how when Porsche does it, its the next best thing, yet when VW does it, its "just an automatic"![]()

Indeed a fine update for the 997. I've always liked 911s, but now with DI, iPod, BT, vented seats and PDK I finally really want one. Now, Peru Red or Mexico Blue?I only wish I could get a Targa without AWD. There's always something isn't there?

Modified by DasRaven at 12:08 PM 4-25-2008Ya like how about a 4 body with RWD (not a GT3 RS)?
I miss the 993 C2S.

If I'm reading it correctly, the LSD was already on 4WD models, now it is available for the first time on 2WD models.

It looks like it is standard on 4wd models and an option(accompanied by PASM) on 2wd cars.
