The GT500KR stickers for 80k. Looks like they screwed up and put a regular GT500 sticker on there?
Sh*t, if it didn't have the insane markup, somebody would be getting a helluva deal on a KR.
#6
HaHa! I hope that even people with money who could afford that ridiculous ass price, just DON'T buy it because of how obsurd that markup is. and that in a year, or two they have to sell it for BELOW sticker just to get rid of it, and make room in the show room!that's strate i'gnant pawtnuh!

how big of a difference is there between this and the regular gt500

The $80K is the 1st production car to feature built in stealership markup in it's price, why pay more?

ahhh Mustang owners, one(sucker) born every minute.

See this simply won't happen, unless the economy takes a turn for the absolute worst and we move right past a recession into a depression. With 600 of these cars being produced, I suspect they won't have a problem selling these cars. Now the markup is a different story. It may go down dramatically over time.

This is just a testament to how crazy mustang enthusiasts actually are! Would I spend that kind of money on a golf-based supercar? Eh, probably not (though that W12 GTI concept/one-off was kind of interesting!
). For 80k, I think I'd rather have a 997S. Or if possible maybe some type of used Aston (would love an AMV8!).

You forgot a whole lotta negative caster, too.

I think I would rather have a Ford GT (GT40 clone) at that price. In fact, I might even have enough money left over for insurance.![]()

One (the first one) was sold at Barrett-Jackson for that price. And all the money above msrp went to charity.

a brief list of cars I would rather purchase for 150k:
Ferrari 360, Ferrari 575M, Aston Martin DB9, Ford GT, Merc CLK63 Black, Lambo Gallardo, 911GT3 RSOf course I could keep going but just to illustrate the point of the competition this car must go against when listed at $154k.

For 180 stacks the stealership could've a least put actual pictures up

Not that it would stop someone for buying it anyway, but still

If it means anything to you...many of the Mustang/Vette owners that pay 6 figures (at B-J for example) have a serious collection and may even own some of the cars you mentioned. It's not like anyone paying $150K for a new Mustang is gonna use it as a daily driver. Most of the owners, like most of the Ford GT owners will treat it as a garage queen and keep it for the long haul. The owner of my local Ford dealership bought the first GT allocated to his shop and 3 yrs later, it's still in the showroom w/ less than 50 miles on the clock. He says he's going to do the exact same thing with a GT500KR.

Yeah, the wheels were like 20s but they didn't seem impossibly big. The production wheels are, what, 18s? The car sure would look better with them concept wheels.
Previously known as Son of a B...5er!

Might as well laminate them.

Not that more than 20 of these things will ever see any track time... but if I'm putting together a track-ready Mustang, I certainly don't want heavy-ass 20" wheels on it.

But what do I know, I'm only a sales manager at a Ford dealership and own a GT500 *shrugs*
