X6 isn't a crossover?

Saw someone posted on

Looks like one of their concept vehicles I saw at a car show last year. But it was a sedan.

I love all cars, I just happen to own a few pieces of german crap at the moment.

Couldn't I just take my X6, lower it, and have the same thing for a few hundred million less in development costs?

No, the chassis itself is not as tall, but sedan proportions with a hatch.
I think this is BMW's way to push a 5 series wagon in the US.

How about we post a picture of the car that actually... shows a bit more of the shape of the car.
The whole thing seems very... concept-y, not production at all.

Fastback sedan with a little more roof and the front end of the CS concept. Looks like it's gonna be called the 5-series GT. This is probably the standard 5er front end as well. I like it, looks nice.I think it's very production-intent. The whole interior looks like a mildly customized production interior - I think this is what we'll see on the road.

I think I like it. It looks very athletic.

Don't like it as much as I thought I would. It could be that gold color, or it could be Hooydonk standing next to it that's throwing me off. I'll always associate him with the abomination that is the previous generation 7 Series. However, I'm going to definitely give this one some time to grow on me. The idea of a 5 door, fastback shaped car like this appeals to me.

I actually like MB's more than BMW's designs lately. I am glad Bangle is leaving BMW although certain vehicles of his actually look amazing (current X5 and the Z4).
#15
ugly and overpriced!
European pedestrian safely laws make the front un-aerodymanic as well.

What is the point of this?

bmw is quickly becoming toyota... all their vehicles are turning into SUVs

Because one's a trunk (though it's not really a trunk... more like an anus) and the other is a hatch!

A vehicle that handles like a BMW and has the utility of an SUV without the sacrifice? What are people crying about?![]()
I dig it.

I hate the X6. I love this. Maybe because it's not crossing with SUV DNA.

Except it doesn't have the utility of an SUV. The 5er Wagon is the vehicle you described, this is simply a 5er Hatch.

don't like the idea, but the trunk idea seems cool. I love the new 5-series headlights compared to the current headlights.

Austin Maxi lives again!
Do NOT like the upright hatchback style stance, but do like the cues which are obviously hints at what the new 5 is going to look like (headlights, taillights, side crease, etc) - seems a return to the good ol' days when a 5 looked like a 7 that had shrunk in the wash.
This hatch thing will hopefully fail like the Vauxhall Signum
