NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 04, 2008, 21:20 HRS. (LOCAL)

A young woman was driving at 40-45 mph along Lake Cook Road, when her car suddenly lurched to the right for no reason that was apparent to her. There were no cars within sight on the road, and she had not seen any pedestrian or animal near the car. She stopped her car immediately, got out, and apparently was flabbergasted by the appearance of the left side of her automobile.

The investigating police officer could not provide an adequate explanation for the damage. He noted that there was no damaged paint, and no animal hair, feathers, or blood, evident on the damaged area of the car. NUFORC has passed the case along to Mr. Sam Maranto, Illinois State Director for the Mutual UFO Network (“MUFON”), for follow-up investigation.

We have no reason to believe that the incident was UFO-related, but we have no explanation for how the extensive damage to the car could have occurred. If any of the visitors to our site have ever witnessed this type of damage to a car, we would welcome comments or suggestions.

    Date: 11/04/08
    Time: 21:20
    Duration: 5-10 seconds
    City: Northbrook
    State: IL

The entire left side of my car appears to be scorched but no paint was removed.

I was driving 40-45 miles per hour heading north toward I-94 East towards Chicago on Lake Cook Road. While I was in the middle lane, I felt a nudge on the left of my car which made my car shift to the right. I did not swerve out of the lane and gained control back quickly.

I slowed down and as I got my bearings, I realized that my left side mirror was knocked off and so I turned right onto Revere Drive and put on my hazard lights.

I got out of the car and saw that I had several dents on the side of my car. There were two that were deeper and larger than the others; one was located in front of the rear wheel and the other was in the center of the driver door.

I called 911 to file a police report and the officer said that I was side swiped by another car but, there were not any cars around me before or after the hit and also there were no paint scratches from other cars on my car.

I'm a little skeptical? Did perhaps a shop spray over existing damage, then the story was fabricated? I don't know of anything that could crumple up metal like that without leaving marks on the paint.

Or was this a case of the p-chop?

Perhaps it was a result of anxiety.

I can think of a way.

She probably got the car 90-degrees sideways on an icy road, and hit a snowbank. The snow would give a bit (preventing obvious scratches), while it could still conform enough to crush in all of the panels. This would also explain why the car doesn't have "sideswipe" type of gouges, or any other typical crash damage.

Conveniently, the evidence of the accident simply melts away.

Oh, duh..... Forgot about snow, we haven't had any for over a month now, and it's been in the 50-60deg range

So, um, who's local and can go scope the scene?

Snow...or despite her insistance, it looks like a couple of deer could have hit it. I had a friend get struck by deer while on a rural road, left a similar imprint.

Weird. I think she's covering something up, like she rally drifted into a bicycler group or something...

wha??? that area is about 10 minutes where i used to work... and if she said she pulled over on Revere Drive, that's near the richie rich mall...

if this was reported on the 4th of november, there was no snow at the time, first snow up here was on Dec 1st...

Hey, a local.... go scope it out for damaged stuff.

Oh, have any college mascot's gone missing I figure the soft furry outside may protect the paint, where the harder inside could do the damage

  23. 02-18-2009 05:11 AM #23
if this happened like yesterday, sure... but you do know that's it's been 3 months, good 20+ inches of snow and snow plows might of alter the area...

plus if she got hit on Lake Cook Rd, that is a 3-lane (each way) type of road...

not sure of mascot stealing, but there is not a local school near by...

you know what is odd by the description, she said she was going north on Lake Cook Rd.... but that road is only east-west..... but in order for her to turn on Revere Rd and going to I-94, she had to be heading west...

Are there Moose in IL? A big one running across the road could have easily done that damage.

I was thinking it was more of a charge with the head down running and the antlers struck the car.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were UFO related, just because you can't see them doesn't mean they're not there. Cloaking ftw. Plus its obvious she hit something with a force field.

I'm going with UFOs.... or secret goverment testing.
