Is it true that the Germans create the most Drivable/Functional concept cars? The car has to have an engine and a usable interior. Please post up any concept car that you can think of made by anyone.VW W12 Concept

"The fact is that a car which works all the time is displaying what Charles Babbage called the 'unerring certainty of machinery'. But a car that breaks down, overheats and coughs when asked to move is displaying some peculiarly human qualities. Basically, it makes mistakes.... And that's how you can build a relationship with a car that that other people won't get." - Jeremy Clarkson

I watched this thing push through the corkscrew at Laguna Seca in August 2005. Very sick sound, extremely fast car. It's a shame to put in all that effort for nothing.

I remember seeing that Chrysler ME-412 in motion one time and I thought it was a Bugatti EB110.. then I got closer and saw it parked.. car seemed to handle surprisingly well for being a "Chrysler Supercar".. and had the looks..Too bad it was yet another 'awesome' Chrysler concept and nothing more..

Running concept cars are nothing new, really. For only one example, Chrysler brought out dozens of exciting concept cars during the 1950s, and every one of them was a fully functional automobile.Chrysler Falcon:

Even earlier, Chrysler had a policy of their concept cars being fully functional and running automobiles.

Don't forget that the turbine cars from GM were driven. I think they even produced a small test fleet for some of the public to try out.

The GM turbine cars, all called Firebirds, were each a one-off, although each was fully functional. It was Chrysler that produced a small run of "production-ready" prototype turbine-engined passenger cars in 1964, ~50 or so, which were distributed around the nation for 30-day loan to average consumers to evaluate in everyday driving. When one came to my hometown of Highland, Indiana for a local family to test, the newspapers and Chicago local news shows were filled with features about the family and their "dream car".

Maybe it's because they're both bland, smooth shapes, but I see Bentley CGT in this thing...

It's a Ghia design, so it's also quite similar to the VW Type 14.
