The latest in the onslaught of European Ford products making us question the brand's domestic offerings, the Kuga, has broken cover ahead of next week's Frankfurt show. Like the production Mondeo and the Verve concept, the Kuga uses Ford of Europe's "Kinetic" design, and was previewed last year by the Iosis X Concept. The aggressive-looking crossover will go on sale in Europe early next year, with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel as the only engine. The interior carries the same theme as the Mondeo, and will be offered with upscale options including a panorama roof and a Blaupunkt navigation system. Nineteen-inch chrome wheels and intelligent four-wheel drive are also available. Just try to look this thing in the face and tell it you'd rather have an Escape.
That would make me think twice before picking a Tiguan if the build quality and handling were up to good standards. Is this the same platform Volvo and Land Rover use?
I do not understand Ford's strategy and reasoning. They could have the second generation Focus here and likely do well too.
Visibility's gotta be pretty damn poor in that thing.
My GF bitches about the visibility in my Mazda 3s Hatch with the same sloping rear window. It's never been a problem for me -- I just look over my shoulder and use my mirrors
"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong."
Why don't they just sell all their Euro Fords under Mercury since Mercury is supposed to be a more upscale Ford and under that guise they could afford to price them in a higher range. Or they could kill Mercury and create a new brand in its wake. The thing that i guess why they don't bother in the US is they could make the biggest pile of **** they want and people will buy it. Its worked for them in the past so I guess they just want to continue it. While in Europe they don't have that many people that strictly buy Ford.
Concerning the car, it looks amazing. The interior is nice too but the center console looks a bit wide proportionally to the rest of the car.
Ford is hemorrhaging on a daily basis here in North America. Why they don't bring this hot mini-SUV / crossover / whatever here at the same time as it is introduced in Europe is completely beyond me.
Yeah, that trend is getting just about as old as gaping grillz, clear tail ligghts and painted silver plastic dash trim. The Kuga hits on three of the four (including the vents), but it's still good lookin'.

The f**kers that will drive those things won't care about visibility anyway, it's the poor guys driving behind are the ones I am concerned about.
All fellow members of the Roman senate hear me. Shall we continue to build palace after palace for the rich? Or shall we aspire to a more noble purpose and build decent housing for the poor? How does the senate vote?

Golfy... none of this mess with GM would've happened if you'd just bought that Saturn Astra like you swore you would. There's blood all over your crazy hands.
The Kuga will also replaced Ford Escape in the Asia Pacific markets (although still retain the Escape name). North America is again left out in the cold by Ford.
Your car does not have soul, you just have a pitiful selection of adjectives in your vocabulary. -... .- -. - .- -... ..- .-.. .- I post useless garbage at http://twitter.com/salynch
