2003 Pontiac Vibe (chartreuse) looking for a nice Cherokee...
Opel Flextreme Concept @ Frankfurt 2007 « » 10:20 AM 9-9-2007
http://www.worldcarfans.com/90...debut Note: searched for "Opel Flextreme" and didn't find anything. Blame search if this is a repost.
No official information has been released thus far, but speculation is, this critter is powered by a 1.3L turbodiesel APU, but is otherwise mechanically indentical to the Chevy Volt. For very obvious reasons, I loves it.
The styling is still a little compromised by an excessively high cowl. Otherwise, I really like the sickle-shaped headlights; they look really nifty. The glassed-in grille is likewise a very cool detail; it's not necessary for ventilation, so the glass reduces drag, but it maintains the Opel family face. I'm less wild about the silly gullwing clamshell tailgate, but that'd obviously disappear for production. It's styled quite nicely.

Awesome concept! To me this looks so much better than the Volt, and at least it comes with a reasonable powertrain IMO...

Now that would be a perfect way to implement this vehicle in GM's NA lineup! I don't know if I could purchase a volt in all seriousness but this is a car I could seriously consider for city living!

I'm sure there will be some resistance to having two similar models.

That needn't be an impedance to discussion, however.

Shocking, isn't it? Just when you thought they'd lost all spark of inspiration, they bring out something that shows they're still generating good ideas.

What can I say? I'm amped up. It's a fault-less design, and I want it so bad it hertz. It's hard to stay neutral and maintain a grounded perspective when you experience a surge of enthusiasm like this.

I prefer the current model. How many times can you rebuild a complex automotive component before you have two of them?
