More trademarked acronyms! More integrated systems! More -tronic suffixes! This can only mean a new model from Mercedes. The Vision GLK FREESIDE, as Stuttgart is calling it, will get its first public showing at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Vision GLK FREESIDE is powered by a four-cylinder, 2.2-liter BLUETEC diesel good for 170 horsepower, which sends its power through a 7G-TRONIC transmission to the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. Its on-road manners are helped by AGILITY CONTROL, which Mercedes says lets the Vision GLK FREESIDE work well off-road while still retaining on-road handling manners. Don't ask me how German engineers manage to speak in capital letters and boldface, but they do.
Although the baby Benz is just a concept, the production version of the GLK will be introduced to its home market in the fall of 2008, with a US intro shortly thereafter.
Oh, I see. Mercedes designed a vehicle specifically for the new "Sex and the City" movie in order to make Sarah Jessica Parker look beautiful by comparison.

That could have been more easily accomplished by having SJP star alongside Seabiscuit.
As for the truck... I try to be excited about every new model, and even every concept, that's introduced, but this one's trying my ability to care.
Is this a concept or production preview? Because I am loving that interior!

Wake up will ya pal? If your not inside, you are outside. OK? And I'm not talking about some 400 thousand dollar a year working wall street stiff flying first class and being comfortable, I'm talking about LIQUID.

It looks like a new CR-V got into it with a RAV-4 and invited a QX in for a threesome. The resulting embryo had chromosomes from all three sources, unfortunately, all were for features that would have normally been bred out.
Reliability is relative. Compared to a British roadster, all Volkswagens are reliable.

Yes, but Mercedes can't turn Seabiscuit into yet another pointless model that'll be sold to customers with too much money who'd have been better off buying a Toyota RAV4.
What a Forrester would look like with a three point star?
The above is an excerpt from the best selling book Band of Boozers, a heroic tale of ordinary alcoholics thrown together in an extraordinary time. Experience this harrowing Wino War II tale as only those that drank it can slurr.
Nope, I don't like it. At least it's boxy and purposeful looking, which should help in terms of utility. Let's just hope the rear seat isn't built for 10 year olds and the structure is sturdy enough to tow a couple ATV's or a jetski, unlike it's competition. *cough, EX35, cough*
On a side note, the SJP jokes are getting old. How come no one bashes male celebs over their appearance?
Here lies the reputation and legacy of Daimler Benz Aktiengessellschaft. It is survived by its descendants, who don't quite understand, let alone embody, the greatness of their ancestor. Requiescat In Pace, Mercedes Benz.
