GM has announced today the launch of a new website that will function as a forum and news outlet for next-generation technologies and vehicles coming from the General. Like on the Fastlane blog, Bob Lutz and others will post comments and answer questions about things like E-Flex or Two-Mode hybrids. If this interests you, the site can be accessed at GMnext.com. To help promote the new forum, GM will host a series of GMnext activities and will even hold a week-long celebration in September of 2008 to promote growth and innovation in the future.
Interesting. I wonder if and when these online ventures will pay off for the general. I like that they're doing it personally, I just wonder how many people really know about it though.
We need a TCL Regional Forum so CLICK HERE and vote in favor of it.
And I want a compact/midsize with a decent 4 CYLINDER diesel engine and no slushbox automatic! Make that available in an Epsilon platform vehicle (and for that matter, in a Canyon/Colorado size pickup NOT FULL SIZE) and maybe I'll think about it.
GM is close to production on a diesel engine that will go in a light duty (<8500lb GVWR) vehicle, but they're still talking V8, and neither I nor most people need that.

Considering GM sells close to a million light-duty trucks and SUVs, you might want to rethink that "most" part. Otherwise, agreed on more four-cylinder diesels.
