You know it'll happen. Embargos break. Official information was expected sometime this week, but Spanish-based Motorpasion.com apparently suffers from premature publication. We'll run further details and pics in accordance with Audi's embargos as we enjoy our relationship with the company. Until then, feast your eyes via MotorPasion.
I like those wheels, and that orange stitched interior

Huh? Do you mean you know you're high so you pay better attention to the road, or do you mean it actually helps you focus better? As in, you have a big test this morning so you chief a fat blunt so you can focus.
Looks far better than I thought, but I'm still partial to the S-Line fascia. Other than that, it looks great. If they end up dropping the 3.2, at least I know I'll have a fairly rare example of the TT

i like it all except the body line in the front fenders, how it goes along with the flair

The interior is smoking (would you expect any less from Audi?) but I'm not sold on the front fascia. The rear one works for sure though. Hopefully quattro Gmbh tuned the suspension and steering, otherwise it'll probably be a typical S car.

One of these days I'm going to break my computer screen punching you Corbic.

Interior isn't really any different than the regular TT. The one pictured is the Optik leather that is available on any TT Roadster. Other than that, they are exactly the same with the exception of the emblem on the speedo.

The interior is definitely hot...

I'm betting 50k even on the price. They can't go much higher than the Z4 M, because the M has a lot more HP. Plus, the Cayman S is 59k, so they can't get anywhere near that.
-- IMO they should just drop the 3.2 so they have only the base 2.0T and the TT-S. Why? The 2.0T is way cheaper to produce than the 3.2. Considering the whole car, aside from the body work, will probably be ultra-amortized from mainstream cars, they could probably make a profit from selling this TT-S at 35k. But anyway, if they knocked off the 3.2, they could put the TT-S at a nice 43k price-point which would make the TT-S a much better value than its competitors, the Cayman S and Z4 M.
Speaking of reusing parts did anyone notice that the brakes look a lot like the R32s?
Anyone care to chip in on weight? I'm betting on the 3100 lb neighborhood with quattro and DSG. The FWD DSG 2.0T is 2965 lbs and the TT-S is supposed to have weight reductions.
If its 3100 lbs, it will be a decent rival to a Cayman S and Z4 M. Definitely slower, but not by much, and it will definitely be easier to drive.
kinda hoped for a turbo di 5 banger that was rumored. i was expecting at least 300 hp for a TTS. is there going to be an RS? theres no way this thing competes with the Z4 M or slk55 like i thought it might.

I want to buy a dump truck, fill it with gravel, and then drive on the highway in front of other dump trucks and break their windshields.

The Turbo I-5 will go in an TT RS if one is produced.
I think this cars performance - just like it's HP rating - will be a bit understated by Audi.
As with alot of others - my biggest problem will be with the price which i'm sure will get close to $50k pretty easily with a few options.
The name quattro doesn't say anything about the type of AWD technology used.
well it certainly doesnt have torsen with a longitudinal engine. im sure it has haldex gen 2.

But that would only happen in my magical dreamworld, where VW dealers were a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-like experience, everything had 4Motion and only cost $12K, and the ORLY owls were my co-pilots.
My guess: 2.0T FSI 272hp? 6 speed manual transmission Quattro
and the other unimportant (to me) stuff.
you can currently buy a TT with 3.2L VR6 250hp quattro and 6 Spd Manual......what's the big deal?!?!?!
edit....if they used the 3.6L FSI, which is "rated" at 280hp...they'd be there....hell, based on dyno's on my green 3.6L passat that motor is every bit 300hp....and could easily do more with a bit of chip tunning and exhasut work.

Let's see - lighter weight and better front to rear weight distribution (2.0T vs VR6), 20+ more hp from the factory than the VR6, not to mention way more torque at lower rpms and presumably better fuel economy.
As I mentioned - power outputs are generally pretty conservative from Audi and VW - and i've seen enough dyno's to know that the current 200hp engine is making a bit more than that stock - just like you believe your VR6 engine is making more than 280hp.
I'd take this over the 3.6 VR6 anyday. Especially when we all know that 400hp is a Stage III kit away.
the end result will be 3.6L FSI.....which many are getting +28mpg's CITY driving in their passats....so milage is not an issue.....
as for weight the 3.6L VR weight maybe 80 lbs more.....granted it's all in the wrong place, but NO 2.0LT will have a tq curve WIDER (area under the curve) than a well tunned 3.6L VR....but to add to that....a VR6T 3.6L
I'm driving a TT 3.2 right now and have spent time in an S3. The torque in the S3, as I remember it, was much more impressive. I suspect they underplayed the numbers. S3 didn't sound as cool, but no doubt that lighter motor in the front would improve handling noticeably.

Whereas we get 30mpg+ on our "modified" 2.0T in our Avant on the freeway with more torque and a 6MT

Actually - depending on how it's tuned the 2.0T will have more usable torque throughout the rpm range. Obviously a bigger turbo will negate some lower end torque but it will then be putting out much more hp when it hits the higher rpms.
Sure a VR6 will ultimately provide more power if it's turbo'd but then again you are just adding more weight to the front of the vehicle.
