NAIAS 2008 - Kia Borrego « » 5:22 PM 1-13-2008
DETROIT (January 13, 2008) - On the heels of record 2007 sales, Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the world debut of the all-new Borrego midsize SUV at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, further bolstering its product offerings in the United States. Inspired by Kia's "less is more" design philosophy, Borrego was intended to convey a pure and functional look. I have yet to see a person, who enjoys "energetic lifestyle" driving an SUV. 99.9% of the time, it's a beat-up Subaru or a Ford Bronco.

Honestly, it looks great, especially considering that it's a KIA. Looks a little liek the new Nissan pathfinder from the side profile. I like it.

Purely depends on how the vehicle is going to be maintained and a bit of luck.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong (as I'm sure I am) but I thought the concept Borrego was a 2 door SUV? Didn't Kia show a concept like that last year? We need a TCL Regional Forum so CLICK HERE and vote in favor of it.

I thought V8 SUVs were going down the toilet. Or did I miss something about how V8s and $95/barrel oil don't go together very well?

Does this replace the Sorento?

Nope. It's bigger than the Sorento. Quote, originally posted by PassSedanGLX » The correlation between current/former Volkswagen ownership and being an impolite douche-canoe is in the mild-positive range.

If I am reading stuff correctly- the Sorento is a midsize SUV and so is this new Borrego.

I personally like Kia's styling trend. Nothing at all wrong with an understated front fascia...I especially liked the look of the Rio when it was in my rear window: simple, not flashy. -Rupert Ellis-

Correct. It's a full-size, body-on-frame vehicle with the new 'Tau' corporate V8 as it's top engine.
