Given its history of wild concepts, it's no surprise to see Chrysler on top of its game again, showing three means to the end of electric vehicles — one for each of its divisions.
The Chrysler ecoVoyager is a small MPV concept that drives on full electric, using pressurized tanks of hydrogen to extend its range via a fuel cell mounted inside its bodywork. We knew that electric motors were torquey, but holy crap can they be fast: The 2750-pound ecoVoyager can do 0-60 in 8.8 seconds but, more importantly, can clear a standing quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds.
The Jeep Renegade is a gas-electric hybrid similar to GM's Volt, which uses a lithium-ion battery pack to propel the vehicle up to 40 miles, and has an onboard three-cylinder BLUETEC diesel engine to charge the batteries when they've drained. Four wheel drive, with low range and locking diffs, the Renegade will nonetheless sprint to 60 in 8.5 seconds, run a 13.6-second quarter mile, and has a range of 400 miles.
Lastly there's the Dodge ZEO, a four-seat, 2+2 runabout that is fully electric. Good for an eleven-second quarter mile, the 2500-pound ZEO can reach 60 in 5.7 seconds and has an electric range of 250 miles when driven conservatively.
I think all three look good, but I wish they were more street worthy. As the first and last stand, the window area is too small, and the rear pillars are too thick...and that Jeep is just a toy. Anyway, it's good to see that creativity is still in Chrysler's design studio. Hopefully they keep cranking out new designs, and then make it their highest priority to get a couple of those into production STAT.

These all make me want to cry (with sadness)! What happened to the Chrysler concepts that were romantic, voluptuous, and elegant? What happened to the Dodge concepts that looked like they would kick you arse? What happened to Jeep (concepts and production)?

There are plenty of existing technologies that produce emissions free electricity. There isn't one single technology in the world that produces emissions free gasoline.

Can't say I like the looks of any of those. They are all very unique, ill give them that... but nowhere near unique in a good way. The eco Voyager is just plain goofy looking, and then buttered up with a bunch of luxo trim. I hope this isnt an indication of future concepts from Chrysler.

I'ma distance myself from all the haters and say I like 'em.
The ecovoyager looks like a 1936 Stout Scarab:
I also like the Zeo for both its performance and its looks, because finally we see Dodge distancing itself from gigantor truck-sized crosshair grilles à-la Caliber. The smaller application of this design theme is tasteful and works well.
I do have one gripe about the Jeep, however, in that it uses axles and a transfer case. Off-roaders present a golden opportunity to make use of hub-mounted electric motors because they offer unlimited options for suspension travel and power distribution to individual wheels and they deliver full torque from 0rpm upwards. The only hiccup would be water and mud-proofing them enough to be usable.

How long can Jeep keep recycling the same styling exercise? Time to come up with something new Jeep, regardless of what's underneath.
What he said ^^^.
What a waste of freakin' money and time. A company in as bad shape as it is has no time and money to waste on concepts that have no possibility whatsoever to reach production.

Everyone said the same thing in the early 90's, take it for what it's worth.

I'm glad someone remembers that far back around here. These designers are getting paid the same whether they make concepts, or make nothing at all. I'd rather they keep making concept cars, gain the courage to push the boundaries further, and that Cerberus allows them to turn concept cars into production cars like Chrysler has done in the past.

What a huge waste of good R&D there. That orange Dodge's front end would make a PERFECT front end on a sports car, but the rest of the car is.. well, let's just say it'd go along the lines of Richard Simmons.
The rest of that stuff is disgusting and typic concept junk in the form that it'll never amount to anything.
