It's been a while since a Lincoln has had a proper sense of occasion to it. Even the LS, penned by Mustang designer Hau Thai-Tang, did little to resurrect the flagging division.
Cue Peter Horbury — the former Volvo head designer who put in several years overseeing Ford's Premier Auto Group and who is now tasked with giving Lincoln an identity that lives up to its heritage. We've seen his handiwork in the MKS sedan already, but his newest creation is the MKT, a Lincoln crossover based on the Ford Flex.
MKT is equipped with a 3.5-liter, direct-injection, turbocharged EcoBoost engine that's rated at 340 horsepower on 87-octane fuel, 415 on E85 or premium unleaded, with its power routed through a six-speed automatic. The MKT also aims to be environmentally friendly, with its body panels, bumper beams, wiring harness insulation and window glazing made from recycled plastic bottles.
Inside, four executive-sized seats are finished in matching "eco-tones", and built-in rear cameras focus on the passengers to allow in-car "conference calling" between the two rows. A rear parcel shelf motors up and out of the load floor, creating tiered storage for small items.
This is what's given out for embargoed use. There will be a slew of pics available shortly after Ford's press conference, and I'll be updating the gallery with a note in here as soon as that's done.
Fifty pictures are now up in the gallery, as of 7:00 AM. here.

For the most part. If memory serves, it's also the cucumber capital of Japan. Hence the home-market ads for the FT-86 featuring Takeichi-kun, the cartoon cucumber whose meteoric rise through the underground drift world has shamed him in the eyes of his school-master.
Lincoln is quietly getting back into the game! Give us a RWD, V8 optional sedan, to act as your flagship, and I'll be pretty impressed. This is nicely differentiated from the Flex, and will rival the Buick Enclave, for the title of "Classiest Crossover". Too bad Chrysler decided to ashcan the Pacifica, rather than making a new one!

There are plenty of existing technologies that produce emissions free electricity. There isn't one single technology in the world that produces emissions free gasoline.

She took the picture.
"No, honey, you don't look retarded at all! I'm soo happy you cut your hair like I told you to [the girls will love this one. For my next trick I'll have him jump off the Brooklyn Bridge]"
Ford just might be able to pull Lincoln out of its rut. I really wasn't expecting the MKT to be such a different beast from the Flex, bravo to you Ford.
We need a TCL Regional Forum so CLICK HERE and vote in favor of it.
No. Just more bad information by Motive, again. In another article they mentioned how the Detroit Red Wings play where NAIAS is held, Cobo Arena, which doesn't hold true for either event. You guys should employ some fact checkers.

Always remember to close all parentheses. We're not paying to air condition the entire paragraph.
This year was strange. Lincoln displayed the MKT, Buick displayed the Chinese Riviera (I had to be surgically removed from it), SAAB put out the 9-4xBioPower, and so on. So many very pretty and downright good-looking concepts from the crappy old US. Who'da thunk?
Reliability is relative. Compared to a British roadster, all Volkswagens are reliable.

thumbs down (to wooden steering wheels) unless its a car that you drive while wearing a leather helmet + goggles while yelling "tally ho, chocks away!"

A restoration to me is some sort of exorcism/brainwash for a car. /rant.
