just too bad they gut the things before they use them.

my wife works at old navy and they are currently remodeling every store in the nation over a few years. this means that the trucks have to go. i know the store she works at they already got rid of the truck.

Seriously, cows "emit" alot of gases compared to cars, yet I don't think any of these smog-test supporters have switched to a vegan diet or made any attempt to place a catalytic converter up a cows rectum.
There is a thread about this on the HAMB. Some guys have even gotten them for free; all they have to do in disassemble them so they can get the truck through the doorway. Some even have drivetrains, but it seems most have rust.

i think that one went to charity here and another went dirt cheap so if you're looking for a project truck may be a good way to get going. just remember that they pretty much just found the truck and painted it really quick to look good. who know's how good/bad it is underneath.

I'll gladly admit I do, their stuff is downright cheap when they've got sales going on...when I was in korea I'd order jeans from them for less than $5 a pair sometimes.

There's something amazing about that. The jeans were probably made in China or another Asian country... shipped to the United States... then sold back to you in Korea?
That speaks volumes about the efficiency of our production processes, but it also makes me think of this:
He stood the furious Foe, the timid Friend/The damning Critic, half approving Wit/ The Coxcomb hit, or fearing to be hit;/Laugh’d at the Loss of Friends he never had,/The dull, the proud, the wicked, and the mad.
Raises hand. I just got 3 fitted polo shirts and 3 thermal henleys for 13 bucks yesterday. Their stuff isn't bad if you don't get the crap that has their logo plastered all over it.
I buy jeans from there all the time. They're cheap and they fit and they don't look bad. That's really the only criteria I have.

..however I just called an Old Navy store and talked to the manager. According to her, their truck (in Homestead, PA) is going to be picked up next month by a company hired to pick up all the trucks. Where they go, she did not know. Will I find out? I hope so.
UPDATE: I'm calling their customer support line...on hold right now listening to teenie bop music..

actually the key problem was that most Koreans don't have 34 inch inseams, so finding pants was a nightmare unless they were custom tailored, shoes was another one I had to order...fortunately it was APO, so no extra fees.

yeah reading into the comments at the bottom of the ebay ad, they have a contact number for florida listed at least. My impression is that the one company is selling all old navy trucks, so if you're really interested, contact the seller of that auction and get the contact for your local area.

Every time I go to Old Navy (once a year, if that much) I spend most of my time staring longingly at that truck. I crawled under it once to see what kind of shape it was in, much to my girlfriend's wide-eyed and loud-yelling horror

Anyways, just got off the phone with the customer care line. They had no idea. I've now talked to 3 seperate store managers. The most I've gotten is that one company is coming in to remove the trucks. One manager said he thought it was going to a van lines company. I heard rumors on the internets that United Van Lines is buying them, but can't confirm. So much for free candy.

I was just looking through those Ebay listings also and found those phone numbers. It the first few paragraphs, it says that they are the company that is going in and disassembling the trucks and shipping them out to two of their warehouses.
If you can get in touch with them right as they are disassembling them and have it shipped directly to your house, you'd probably make out alright. And so far, looks like some of the trucks are selling for a good price. Such a low price, it wouldn't be too costly for someone to throw an engine and trans in there and rewire the chassis for under $10k, if not less.

I could have sworn that the one in my local Old Navy was a prop, never once had an engine/tranny in it. Plus the thing is SOLID, not a spec of it ever having had rust on it. I drop in old Navy around Christmas time as the GF is looking for pj pants. I can not wear the clothes, the waist is too big but they will be tight in thighs, ankles That and they are garbage.
Also looks like there is a company responsible for supplying the trucks to the stores on a rental deal. I just sent them an email asking about getting one of the trucks, search continues.. ttp://www.brasington.com/

I still think that they are props. For some reason I seem to remember a sneeker store chain that used orange and white '57 Vettes in all their stores as well. My dad looked underneath and it looked like a big toy car.

there may have been some that were props, but I've seen quite a few of them that are legitimate trucks...I think a few may have fiberglass body panels i.e. hoods and fenders just because the original parts were so badly worn that they couldn't just paint over them

I agree. The waist is fine, but everywhere else is tight. Not everyone is a skinny, lanky, emo kid these days.
That and an XL shirt is wider than it is tall.

Could be, that makes alot of sense. Probabally the same place that supplies all the Montana's with their barn red Chevy P/U's
