To the best of our knowledge, neither Schwinn nor Cannondale have ever seen fit to build a car. But for some reason, carmakers like to put their names on bicycles. Perhaps in this age of lifestyle marketing, there's no better way to attract those active outdoorsy-types to your car lineup than to slap your name on outdoorsy-type products. Or maybe it's the other way around — owners are so in love with their cars that they want every piece of equipment in their garage to bear their favorite marque. (If you fit into the latter camp, we've got a sweet AMG leaf blower to sell you. Only $14,000.)...
Most of the time auto makers will label a bike. Certain bikes had frames or suspension designed by auto manufactuers. Most bikes labled with an auto makers badge just plain sucked. Anything availible at a car dealer as an accesorie or included with purchase of the car were/is garbage.
Edit: Holy Jeez read the article. Don't know whose making the caddy bikes but everything else featured is complete rubbish. That Jeep bike, ahhh is that a Noleen/Girvin/K2/ProFlex style frame and fork?
Edit x2: I see that Jeep bike is a Christini dual drive bike. Rode it before, neat, completely silly. OOOOOKAy And the Hummer.... MIL Spec? That would be like sending a marine in with a pot metal pistol or a rubberband gun. I would never race let alone trust that hunk in a life or death situation.
Audi, Porsche and BMW have stopped offering bikes? They finally realized that people who are serious enough about cycling to spend €3 grand on a bike really want a frame that was designed and manufactured by a reputable bicycle company rather than some firm X hiding behind the fancy car manufacturer badge.
Some of those are really interesting... I really wouldn't like to ride a foldable bike offroad. The two-wheel drive would be interesting to try, but just to see how it works. It's probably way too complicated, heavy, prone to problems... The Cadillac cruiser is quite cool, at least it's not trying hard. But if I wanted a classic cruiser, I'd get a Schwinn, not a Cadillac, even if I drove a classic Cadillac.
And as for the Honda posted above, I don't know anything about it, but it certainly looks advanced! I wonder if it was designed by Honda's MX engineers. I just don't understand Honda's motives to design such a bike, as they don't manufacture bicycles... Anyway, Finnish rider Matti Lehikoinen rode for Honda last year.

hey, fake wimbledon, how about you leave the news to wimbledon?
wimbledon, can you make a thread about this, so i can read it?
They built the most advanced downhill bike ever...
I bet it has a higher top speed than a Rebel!
The above is an excerpt from the best selling book Band of Boozers, a heroic tale of ordinary alcoholics thrown together in an extraordinary time. Experience this harrowing Wino War II tale as only those that drank it can slurr.
there are def. some others, though i can't think of some off the top of my head.
edit: though not a factory job or collaboration, i remembered the pezcyclingnews.com repsol honda inspired kuota kom paint job: despite the garish bar tape, i like it.
Most of those are rather old bikes... Obviosly sold off to X-buyer after their series expires.
And Honda? They built the most advanced downhill bike ever...
That department store stuff should be an embarassment.
Take that over to the Bike Porn thread in Cycling
If it’s any consolation to anti Honda people, I have a Honda Trail Pilot mountain and it’s a POS
