Continental Goodness: SEAT León K¹« »

Designed by Volkswagen's Walter de'Silva, the SEAT León is the Spanish-built platform mate of our buttoned-down Rabbit hatchback. SEAT's version of our GTI, then, would be the León FR, available with the same 2.0-liter TFSI engine and six-speed twin-clutch DSG transmission we get in the States. The brand goes one step further, though, and offers the hopped-up León Cupra, available with a 238-horsepower version of the FR's turbo four.

Now, the León Cupra is available with the K¹ styling kit that gives the Cupra the look of the SEAT Sport BTCC car. Changes include an extensively re-worked front and rear bumper, smart side skirts, a more pronounced tailgate spoiler and unique chrome-tipped, centrally-mounted, oval exhaust.

The kit is a not insubstantial £1000 ($1900) on top of the already pricey £19,495 ($38,800) León Cupra, but when the compared to the £20,815 ($41,431) base price of a less-powerful GTI, the Cupra K¹ becomes a downright bargain.

I like the last gen. Seat Leon Cupra R 225 in black or grey lowered that's what i'm talking about. This one seems way to big, in person it looks like a minivan.

This one is better.

100% YES!!! One of the best looking hatches ever. Nice and aggressive. The new body is just waaaay to rounded and pudgy looking...the Cupra is a slight improvement. But still, with those big headlights and stubby hood, it's girly looking.

This was the Leon Cupra R at its finest:

I'm not a hatch kind of person, i'm more into sedans, and coupes, but i have to say that the Leon Cupra R made me look at hatchbacks. And hopefully if all goes well and financing goes through, i'll be driving that beauty in the next few months.

I think the car looks cool, but I'm more concerned with when our GTI gets that engine.

Blind spot du-jour.

Good luck seeing anything out of that car.

All fellow members of the Roman senate hear me. Shall we continue to build palace after palace for the rich? Or shall we aspire to a more noble purpose and build decent housing for the poor? How does the senate vote?

Screw the poor!!!

I haven't driven it yet, but i have seen and have a few friends that have it, they haven't complained about it, other than a weird comment by one of them and he said the pedal placement is weird. It won't be my daily driver because as of right now i don't need to drive to attend the business or offices i have to go. It will be my weekend warrior
