Just another VW cocktease. Show the US market products people want and give them watered down versions years later if ever.

While it might get 70mpg, I wonder how many miles per repost it gets? I bet its pretty low! You can't make a pig fly, but you can make a pig damned fast!

So far, VW hasn't stated that anyone is getting this car. They say it's just a concept. The European press rumors are that it will be available there at the end of next year. They also say that it is designed to be 50-state legal in the US; make of that what you will.

The first article about the hybrid concept that US was the main reason for it. When it comes out it will be in the MKVI Golf (as that is less than a year away) and more likely as a Jetta in the US. Because Jetta sells way better here.Quote, originally posted by MEIN_VW » This place is is insane - the biggest complaint I hear in the Car Lounge is that VW's are too expensive when loaded up with options and yet when they want to decontent and lower the price, the complaints get even louder. You can't have it both ways.

Don't forget the torkz.
Also, my Jetta wagon does just fine with 90hp.

yeah, and? most hybrids only make 100hp
the real numbers are this 133ft lbs of torque (engine) + 103ft lbs of torque (motor) = 236ft lbs of torque
However, the Prius motor (the electric bit) makes 295ft lbs of torque by itself.
however a 7 speed DSG > 1 speed planetary
