Yep, the GT-R is a large car. It also has 4 seats and is largely based on their full-size sedan platform. Should the fact that it's a tank and STILL blows away cars like the NSX and such mean that it's even more impressive?

Meh... I'd like to see a comparison with the 350Z in the background, so I can get a better perspective. C'mon, how often do you encounter an NSX? Not to mention it seats only 2 and is 15yrs old. Every car gets bigger over time.
this reminds me of the really cute chick who you start dating, bragging to all your friends how cute, then hot she is. then one day you mean her REALLY hot roomate. now all of a sudden your girl is just ok. your girl=gtr hot roomate=nsx
maybe im worng...still like the gtr though, just not as much after seeing those pictures

It's wider and longer than the Z, too.
Not every car gets bigger, and it's a crime that most do. The Mazda 2/Demio got smaller and much lighter for the current generation.

No, you're right. Except that in this case, your girl was never really hot to begin with.

Well, the NSX wasn't meant for all out speed. Honda was aiming to create a wonderfully balanced and precise machine, and they sure as hell nailed it with the NSX. I would rather own the NSX than the GTR.

My Corolla hasn't broken down once since 2001, it's been paid off for most of that time, and it's about as satisfying as masturbating with a boxing glove.

Amen.
Joe Rogan on Kellogg's dropping Michael Phelps:I mean, do you guys ever think about what you sell? Pop tarts? Are you kidding me? I would be willing to bet that 50% of the people buying pop tarts are stoned out of their ****ing minds ... There’s nothing quite like being stoned out of your mind at 2am watching a Chuck Norris movie and eating a bowl of fruit loops.
If anything, those pics show how timeless the NSX's design is. That one is perfect too, if I were to have an NSX it would be exactly like that one -- white, with the pop-ups. Gorgeous car.

I had an NSX before kids, marriage, mortgage, etc. It was a lot of fun to drive but my next car will be a GT-R regardless of size. In fact the 2 rear seats are the clicher.

No, because the NSX has been around since 1990. If anything, the NSX should be given credit for being mentioned in the same sentence as the GT-R, with an 18 year old design.

Tyrone, when you reverse things come from behind you!

But in fairness, the first GT-R came out a year or two after the NSX, and was already an incredibly capable car, smoking all comers in the JGTC in its first year.
I agree the NSX was a revolutionary car when it came out. It totally redefined the way the world viewed exotics. No longer did a mid-engined exotic car need to be twitchy, uncomfortable, and unreliable. Honda's NSX changed everything, but ultimately it was more about being the best all around package which honestly, is one of the things the GT-R does better than just about anyone else now. The GT-R is both large, comfortable, and seats 4 (sorta) while still offering amazing handling and speed. In a way, it shares a bit in common with the NSX - great comfort with great speed.

According to the innernetz, the Skyline GT-R as we know it today was released in 1989. There were other GT-R's in the 70s though.
I'm going to go against the grain here and say that the GT-R makes the NSX look like a wimpy little 15 year old car. It still looks good and it's still great to drive, but it just looks like it's about to get its ass handed to it by that big old pissed off behemoth sitting next to it.

Right, because it "being mentioned in the same sentence as the GT-R" is due to a picture comparing its size.
Hey, if I take a pic of the 20 year old Yugo next to a GT-R and post it on TCL, it can be "mentioned in the same sentence" too!!
No one compared the performance of the two because if you did, you would know it's no contest. GT-R >>>> NSX
after my Cayman lease is up, i'm going to buy a 6-Speed '05 NSX. I love these cars more and more everyday.
I actually am liking the NSX interiors with each passing day, since its a 1990s design that has been carried over, and doesn't have the overly complex dashboards of today.
The GTR interior seems to be very interesting as well - I just want to get my hands on the computer system in the car and examine it.
