For the most part. If memory serves, it's also the cucumber capital of Japan. Hence the home-market ads for the FT-86 featuring Takeichi-kun, the cartoon cucumber whose meteoric rise through the underground drift world has shamed him in the eyes of his school-master.
If it drives like I hope it will, that car would be my next. Seriously amazing in every respect.

I really would like to know what the base price will be on one of these.... I love it.
I would hit the Pontiac G8 GXP with a fury equal only to the God’s mighty fists reigning blows upon the earth’s surface in anger!

If the price is reasonable (around $35K) I will unload my GTO.
And the LS3 is supposed to be 430hp. What gives?
It's probably making exactly the same power just officially rated better so it doesn't compete with the Vette power wise. GM used to do the same thing when both the Vette and the Camaro shared the LS1.
For some reason I kinda expected more, but 1/2 second improvement for probably $2500 more ain't bad at all.
I like
There's a good chance it's just underrated.

Wait, I thought that the G8 wasn't getting a manual trans...
The GT (or whatever they're calling the current v8 trim) was originally reported to be getting a manual, and still hasn't. I don't think anyone ever seriously doubted than an LS model would receive a stick. Some people just didn't want to be forced to buy the 'Vette motor to get one.

I wonder how is new tremec 6060 trransmission? Any better than old knife in a peanut butter jar? Is suspension type 3? Ye, engine is probably underrated, SAE specs pending says in the article.. Can't wait for this car...
After further consideration, allow me to amend this statement:
I'd even hit it if they put a huge gold screaming chicken on the hood, in black. Imagine the look on a 5 series drivers face when the screaming chicken takes their lunch from them.
Why can't Ford smarten up and raid their own Aussie parts bins?
No one cares about your "mods" like tint, and what chip you used on your "nevar lose"........ seriously.
Ye, engine is probably underrated, SAE specs pending says in the article..
Nevermind even that; the fourth-gen Camaros and Firebirds with the LS1 were rated lower than the same engine in the 'Vette, yet they dyno'd the same to the wheels...
Oh, and make mine white.
I wish I were in the market for a sedan.

Gas guzzler tax? 14 Inch brembos up front is NICE... GTi style egg-crate grill - nice.. 6.2 LS3 - check... Can't wait for interior pix.. Starting to use GM rebate Visa (5%!!!)

My guess is it's either one of two things.
A) They're just using power numbers from the Australian tuned version B) They've de-tuned it so they don't have to slap the "Premium Required" sticker on it.
There's no reason in the world why this engine won't be making the exact same power as the LS3 in the Vette, and the SAE rating system did away with the under-rating that went on back when the Camaro SS and WS6 were rated below the Vette.
