Don't let the dealer inventory reports fool you; despite a 234-day stock on Solstices, Pontiac's two-seat droptop is the still the top-selling roadster in the country. As the Solstice juggernaut lumbers on, Pontiac is broadening its appeal with the addition of the Solstice Coupe. More than just a hardtop version of the roadster, the Coupe features a magnesium-framed roof panel than can be removed at will, making the Coupe into a targa-top.
Because the change to a coupe body style resulted in only a slight increase in curb weight, no drivetrain or suspension changes were necessary to shift from the convertible body structure. What this means is the the Coupe - which will be available in naturally-aspirated base or turbocharged GXP trim - is expected to match the roadster number for number for performance.

So from what I can tell, all they did was slap a top on the existing convertible?
So I'm assuming this is gonna be heavier and not lighter?
that post was like playboy, you were actually supposed to read the articles...

But my original question stands. This doesn't look like a new body/structure. It looks as though they removed the softtop and trunk, then slapped a top+targa onto the body.
"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong."

I was talking about the actual body structure. Did you even read what I wrote?
This doesn't look like a separate coupe model like the Z4 Roadster/Z4 Coupe. It looks like a Solstice Roadster (top/trunk removed) with a roof shell tacked on ala:
"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong."
