Toyota gave us a box with the Scion xB and Honda did as well, in the form of the Element. But Nissan, Japan's third largest importer to the U.S., has kept its sweet little box, the Cube, exclusive to the home market. Compared to the first-generation xB, the Cube measures over eight inches shorter and almost an inch narrower, and also weighs fifty pounds less in two-wheel drive form. Yet it offers about 0.5 cubic feet more interior volume. Combine those specs with an attractive, artistic design, and this may be the most appealing box of them all...
If they brought this thing over and sold it alongside the Versa for about the same price, it would kill.

There's no need to feel excluded, though, because Nissan recently announced that a redesigned Cube will indeed arrive at dealerships everywhere — including the States — when it goes on sale in early 2009. Those of you who were heartbroken when the xB pulled a full-on Oprah last year might want to head to your local Nissan dealer now, where they'll likely be happy to take your deposit
I love the Cube. If it had the 1.8, an extra cog, and a third pedal it would absolutely crush the Scion in sales. The asymmetrical design and implementation of cubes in the design just make it that much more appealing to me. This would be the first Nissan I'd seriously consider since they where called Datsun's.
We need a TCL Regional Forum so CLICK HERE and vote in favor of it.
Considering the rear doors are hinged at the B pillar with conventional openings, perhaps they can put the old twin spark 2.4 in it, paint it yellow and sell it as a taxi.
I want to see someone buy two in the same color, cut one off at the A-pillar, turn it into a trailer, and tow it with the first one...like that Passat.

What does mike type that isnt funny. Hes like the top resident smart ass of the vortex.
SION XB, anyone.........HONDA ELEMENT anyone.........anyone?????
this one is designed more. the black rear pillar on one side, plus the shape works. the xb was just a box, and most of the elements had that god awful black body clading.

In Japan they actually look big. But in the U.S. they will look really small. Size aside... it's what they have done with it that counts. It clearly have much more style and is a way smarter design statment than the xB. The asymetricle look is odd at first but, it is a nice touch to the basic box. For this market it will be the late to the partyleader...
I believe the Cube was out in Japan before these 2 were. Not even sure if the Element is available in Japan.
It was... Honda imported the Element and sold it in Japan for a while. But it didn't sell very well since it is too big and a gas guzzler... 2.4 liter also = mega annual registration taxes vs. 2.0 CR-V.
But Honda's true competitor to Nissan Cube and Toyota bb is called Mobilo.
