Because it's one of the most popular, best-selling luxury cars on the road today?
Why does this have camo on the sides? Pictures of the car have been out for many months. When is it coming out anyway? It seems like it's been nearly 3 years since we started seeing spy shots and videos of Hyundai's "upcoming RWD sedan".

The correlation between current/former Volkswagen ownership and being an impolite douche-canoe is in the mild-positive range.

Hi, welcome to The Car Lounge. We all hate each other and argue about stuff. It's awesome.
Yes, but Toyota also had to tackle the issue of establishing an entirely new dealership network from which to sell the LS & ES, so it's understandable it took so long.
And please don't misinterpret my comments as criticism. I'm just excited to finally see/drive a new Genesis, but as the saying goes, time goes by so slowly for those who wait. Either way, it looks very promising!

True, though Hyundai is also launching a luxury franchise. Just...not here. At least, not yet.
The Sonata in front of it seems to have some camo and tape on it, too.
I wonder what those cars could be testing, then--maybe diesel engines? I wouldn't be surprised to see the new 3.0-L S-Diesel in the Genesis, and with the power that engine puts down, that would be a very cool car.
Directly from the back it's got a little bit of 5 series and 3 series. Munich will not be happy (and also of their interpretation of the hoffmeister kink).
Once you get to the 3/4 shot you can tell very clearly it's not German. German design tend to tuck in a bit more, taper it a bit more.. and not have such wide and square corners.
What amazes me though...has Korea, in designing their FIRST 'luxury car', made something to resemble the German presence? This is something that took Japan ages (boy have they tried and tried again look at the new Accord) and not come very close.
Really? They had a V8 model sitting on the floor here in little Peoria, IL.
The auto show was a couple months ago and I asked specifically and they only had brochures for it. My dad wanted to see what it looked like as he is looking for a new car.
Lawd hav murcy I think a VIP Genesis sedan will look sooo sick

They had a pre-production Genesis at the auto-show locked up, but I convinced the Hyundai girl to let me i for a bit... very nice .

We've learned that piling up material goods cannot fill the emptiness of lives which have no confidence or purpose." - Jimmy Carter, 1978
