A combination of a CCX and 9-3 AeroX combi would possibly be the most evil looking car the world has ever seen, and I am rock hard writing this sentance.
Highs: - awesome wheels - love the GT-R inspired grille - flush-fitting hood, a la 3rd gen Integra - sculpted hood integrating with the fenders (also from GT-R?) - very cool wing mirrors - "coke bottle" shape, also seems to be GT-R inspired - coupe profile with a steeply raked rear windshield - although probably bad for tall people in the back - the taillights really save the rear end
Lows: - you've got to be kidding me headlights - did we not yell loudly enough how much we hate Bangle butt?
Overall, I feel exactly the same about this car as I do about the current BMW 5 series. It is a great looking car completely ruined by the headlights and the rear. Is it really so difficult to come up with exciting, yet graceful front and rear treatments?
I also absolutely detest the high beltlines found on all new cars, but I realize that is just a personal bias, and not really a legit design criticism. Why people feel more safe when they can see less is beyond my understanding. It reminds me of Zaphod Beeblebrox and his Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses.

Oh, welcome to the Lounge. You'll probably spend a couple months in the MkIV forum - realize its garbage...then spend literally the next 8-10 years of your life here in the Car Lounge.
Don't know any details so I hope they're getting away from FWD. AWD at least to stay competitive.
Competitive with what?
The Avalon, V6 G8, ES350 and CC don't have AWD. The V6 Passat is being killed off (and likely taking 4Motion with it since it's only offered on the V6) and the details of the next TL haven't been solidified yet.

That said, it would be nice to have AWD.
From what I've read the CC will offer AWD. I think AWD would be nice for the Maxima, but they really wouldn't gain many sales by adding it.

This is TCL, the bastion of hatred and ill feelings.
it has a lot of odd angles to it, I'm not sure if I like it or hate it...guess I'll have to wait to see it in person.
You smug faced cowards with kindling eye, who cheer when soldier lads march by. Sneak home and pray you'll never know the hell where youth and laughter go. - Siegfried Sassoon.
This is one of those cars that looks a lot better in person then it does in most pics. It's not the best looking car in my opinion but it's not terrible either Mike
"Ferraris are serious cars for serious people who drive around wearing a serious expression. The Gallardo can do serious, too. It has Audi electrics and Audi engineering. But as you careen towards the next bend on a wave of extraordinary sound, half blinded by your own upholstery, you’ll be making the noise of a howler monkey and wishing you were naked" The one and only Jeremy Clarkson
I really dig the exterior of this car, it's different and exudes style.
That said I have my complaints:
-4DSC moniker, yet only a CVT is offered. -Steering wheel is straight from the Infiniti FX....it works better in the Infiniti -No AWD option -Interior controls come straight out of the Murano, while the interior looks great, I was looking for something a little different.
All in all, it's a big improvement on the last gen Maxima, but I think manual and AWD options would be very nice.

Huh? Do you mean you know you're high so you pay better attention to the road, or do you mean it actually helps you focus better? As in, you have a big test this morning so you chief a fat blunt so you can focus.
It's a luxo-rocket, there's no real need for a manual. Just lean back, push the pedal, light up the turbos, and sail off into rotary oblivion.

That's f*ckin awesome. In a matter of fact, this whole car is badass!!!! Driving a musclecar should be like a rolling face in someone else's rearview mirror.
WTH is the reasoning behind the goofy lower side extensions of the headlights?
You'll notice that there are no separate fender-mounted indicator lights. The extension is just so the indicators can be seen from the side. Still, I would have preferred separate indicators on the fenders.
