As per usual with new BMW interiors though, I hate it. The gear shifter, i-Drive, and steering wheel all need to GTFO. LOL at Google on the Nav display. Now people can surf the internet from their cars.
All fellow members of the Roman senate hear me. Shall we continue to build palace after palace for the rich? Or shall we aspire to a more noble purpose and build decent housing for the poor? How does the senate vote?
I'd say the interior is considerably better than the current one, but that pig nose front end is pretty bad. That random chunk of chrome in front of the front door looks lame too.

One of these days I'm going to break my computer screen punching you Corbic.
I'm going to go against the grain here ....I actually like it. IMO it brings back some real BMW flair which the late 90's 7series had. I'm not a fan of recent BMW interiors, but I think it kinds works well here.I especially like the profile but from what i can see the taillights may take some getting used to......overall, I think it's a very handsome car

"That's not a speed limiter..........just a Porsche factory driver at the wheel of the GT-R.".
It doesn't do much for me personally. I don't think it's bad, but it's not something I would get excited over. I'm not the target customer anyway, so I guess it really doesn't matter what I think.
I see that too....which is a good thing! I think they've done a good job here, even though the tail lights initially reminded me (just a bit) of something Toyota-ish from the three-quarter rear angle.

The Car Lounge sofa doesn't look all that comfortable and probably smells of cat piss.
the pics not posted look much better. looks athletic and lean. im liking it.
the interior has some Adui influences mixed in with traditional Bimmer. namely, the vents, area left of the sterring wheel, the appilication of wood/alum on the doors...
I really think some bigwig at BMW made a bet that they can make the ugliest cars out there and still sell a **** ton.
Ugly? How so, it looks like every other car in its class, big and boring. German cars used to excel in the details, now all cars from Hyundai up to Mercedes all look like they pulled from the same parts bin on the outside. Jaguar used to actually look like it was made from metal, but with their latest model they too pulled from the plasti-parts store.
I like it. The interior isn't as bad as a lot of the recent BMW interiors. The exterior almost brings back that sense of tautness that the older 7 series had but with a tad bit more flair. I could never afford one but if I was in that price bracket the new 7 series would suddenly find itself near the top of the mountain.
We need a TCL Regional Forum so CLICK HERE and vote in favor of it.
Yes! Loving it! The goofiness is gone! Welcome back BMW! DoubleNaught BMW fan boy mode enabled!

She took the picture.
"No, honey, you don't look retarded at all! I'm soo happy you cut your hair like I told you to [the girls will love this one. For my next trick I'll have him jump off the Brooklyn Bridge]"
It isn't bad. I had very high hopes for this car though. The previous design was utterly hideous, but was at least daring. I thought they would just correct the mistakes and come out with something dramatic, but still graceful.
Sadly, they just photoshopped all the creases out of the current design and said job done. Too bad Lexus already did that to the 7 series with the current LS. But then, they have the #1 selling flagship in the US, so maybe they're doing it right?
Still, nothing about this car says "BMW sport sedan" to me. It isn't ugly. Just....basic.
Also, I wish I could Rip Van Winkle until this goddamned high beltline trend goes away forever. Gunslit windows with poor visibility, huge heavy doors, and required 22" wheels to balance the ungainly body, while wrecking the ride. How is this an advancement in automotive design?!

Oh, welcome to the Lounge. You'll probably spend a couple months in the MkIV forum - realize its garbage...then spend literally the next 8-10 years of your life here in the Car Lounge.

Is it not to do with modern side impact protection? A bit like chunky A/B/C pillars which have ruined the elegance of many modern designs (See modern Challenger vs 60s - good looking car but looks 'chunky', less graceful)
