I can't see these pics (at work), but I have a feeling its nothing new. IIRC, sneak peak pictures of the Volt were posted a week or two ago.

wow, someone isnt going to be happy...

come thesteve and tell us how you really feel about these photos being leaked...

i do like that the AC stuff is up top since you typically adjust that once and let it be, that puts the radio more in reach and seems to be very well laid out...

I see a HD in the vehicle too like the CTS. thats awesome, I also see bluetooth.

Its not the plastic. Its that looks like a kitchen appliance with a broad touch of iMac. Doesn't look like a car panel.

If that's the center console, doesn't belong to the volt edginess appearance.

DEFINITELY TOUCH SENSITIVE BUTTONS.

I wonder how much things will the butt turn on while having some shag fun with the lady

Ever consider that the market the volt will be sold to will like it?

The $35k+ volt will be sold to older (30+) people who want to be "cool," "hip," and "trendy." These people like the Apple Computer look. Honestly, it is proof of good market undertanding.

As a proud representative of said target market, I gotta say I like the look.

Wonder if you'll be able to specify differently colored "skins"?

it would be awesome if you could specify white, black, or exterior color... that would be frickin amazing, but you know how many random colors you would have out there in the world?

wonder if GM will sell skins for it aftermarket, if not im going to have to figure out how to do it

You're assuming that it's the same technology currently in use, and not something that's been significantly improved upon for the Volt. Besides, the touch-sensitive buttons probably weigh less than a traditional center stack.

Throw me in the "love it" column. I think it's terrific.

Ipod-ish shiny white, with touch-sensitive controls. It makes sense to me, especially for a high-tech car. Before people jump all over this thing, for whatever negative reasons, let's try to remember this car's mission and audience. Also, let's not expect every car to have the same interior as a 4 year old Audi A6. Black vinyl, simulated wood grain, and aluminum trim are not the only colors/materials on the planet.

Really? I owned a 3rd-gen iPod - the one without the clickwheel - for a lotta years, and never found the touch-sensitive buttons to be a problem.

The buttons did get a little skeezy after being touched like 80,000 times, but that was my fault, not Apple's.

If it's shiny plastic, it should be easily cleaned. If it has any graining, god help us all.

My iPod works great too, but my HP laptop sucks. Depends on how skillfully it is implemented, I guess.

It is Apple's fault that it's skeezy after 80,000 touches, don't ya think?

A car is simply not an environment where this makes sense IMO.

In their defense, tho, I never cleaned the thing, and it was a veteran of many dusty road trips, hiking excursions, humorous incidents with ketchup packets, and my pocket.

If done right, those same types of buttons can be dead reliable, responding to touch every time while not being oversensitive or undersensitive. And I really doubt GM cheaped out on the buttons on a car that is going to define a new segment.

I totally agree with you. I don't personally like it and seems like GM is trying to jump on the iPod ascetics gimmick a bit too late.

I also personally HATE touch sensitive buttons.
