The Mazda Kiyora is the latest Nagare ‘flow’ concept, and previews an all-new Mazda city car that could be in production as early as 2010 if public reaction is positive enough. The Kiyora will be revealed at the Paris motor show and continues Mazda’s latest vision of ‘Sustainable Zoom-Zoom’. Mazda Kiyora eh? What does that mean?
Clean and pure, apparently. ‘The harmony between driving pleasure and environmental and safety features.’ Which means an all-new lightweight platform to help CO2 and mpg figures, without compromising the safety of the Kiyora.
For your driving pleasure the Kiyora has a next-generation 1.3-litre direct-injection petrol engine, mated to an automatic gearbox and Mazda’s new Smart Idle Stop System. That’s stop-start to you and me. Anything else?
Mazda claims the Nagare design means very efficient aerodynamics, while inside the design and technology are claimed to ‘support a youthful lifestyle’.
Alongside the Kiyora Mazda will also unveil the facelifted MX-5 at Paris, plus a Mazda 6 with the firm’s new 2.2-litre diesel and a 1.6-litre diesel 2.
Not because I don't like them; I do. Stop making them before people get tired of the whole thing. By the time a Nagare-inspired car hits the streets, it's going to be like the new Camaro. People are going to be over and done with it by then, after seeing so many concepts.

Well they lost VonDutchlastname to some other manufacturer so they're probably trying to squeeze them all out before their new head of design completely changes the language.

More and more evidence is piling up that Europeans are nothing more than Americans with more colorful money and funny accents.
I'm beginning to think that the Nagare design language is the first, truly original and non-derivative style from ANY Asian manufacturer. That is, if they actually use it in a production car. It is distinctively Japanese to my eye, and yet NO ONE else had done anything like it. Both organic and industrial, it seems to embody what I understand of Japan's desire to seek harmony between nature and machine.
EDIT: Wow... It looks like my post would have been better served in the thread linked above.

Actually, I wouldn't mind another concept, if it were something much more production-ready. All these concepts Mazda has done so far really don't show how the language would translate to the real world.
What the heck kind of bullcrap is that? In the past 2-3 years, they have released three all-new models:
Mazda5 CX-7 CX-9 NC Miata
They've just recently revamped:
Tribute RX-8
The NC Miata refresh was just leaked. The all-new Mazda6 was just launched and the all-new Mazda3 is just around the corner.
Please, dispense with the bull****.
We were joking, mostly, but we've seen as many new Mazda concepts in the last three months as we've seen new Mazda production vehicles in the last three years.
Mazda's design studio is on a bit of a run. I think we're up to 7 Nagare concepts now -- none of which have moved out of the fantasy realm and into the production-concept phase. It's not that much of a stretch to think Mazda's resources could be better spent elsewhere *Cough*KABURA*Cough*.

In case you haven't noticed, the Nagare "language" is already turning up in new Mazdas (albeit in a much toned down way):
