"Set for debut in Paris next month, GM Europe has unveiled first images for its Orlando Concept, a seven-seat family MPV which reminds of the Chevrolet Sequel SUV/crossover concept from 2005, although much smaller in size. The Orlando is based on the all-new Cruze compact sedan and aims at being a sport utility, family van and wagon.
With a wheelbase of 2760 mm, GM is placing emphasis on the vehicle's functionality with adaptable, theater-style seating in three rows comfortably accommodating up to seven occupants, while the spacious cabin can be quickly transformed into a large cargo area.
Powered by Chevrolet’s latest-generation 2.0-liter turbo diesel, developing 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque, GM hints of their intention to bring the Orlando to production, as it nicely fills an empty slot for their global product portfolio."
I'd like it a lot better if the grille didn't borrow as much from the Uplander. I also agree with IwishIhadaHonda, after driving my neighbour's Matrix for a week, the positioning of the gearshift was just awful. No need to have it anywhere other than directly below the armrest.
There are plenty of existing technologies that produce emissions free electricity. There isn't one single technology in the world that produces emissions free gasoline.
I think this more like a Mazda5 or Kia Rondo in size. I applaud GM for making a move toward smaller people haulers. People complain when GM makes Suburban sized vehicles, and apparently when they branch out into small vehicles (TCL's favorite size class), they also b*tch about that.

Another crossover? Is that really necessary?

I think they called it the Orlando since it'll be the rental car everyone drives when they go to Disney World. Looks like a step up from the Equinox/Torrent, which is what my parents drive when they go to Disney World!
Holy balls. I'd drive something like the above in a heartbeat.
There are so many kick-ass choices for cars I like coming out in the next two years. God damn. This would replace both my cars easily, especially if the US version has the 1.4L DI turbo.

No ****. Look, folks, some of us want, need, and use crossover-type vehicles. You can't slag on every goddamn vehicle type besides the one you personally own. I appreciate small cars, I own small cars, but not everybody's needs are satisfied by a small car, and if it's a reasonably efficient vehicle nobody else gets much of a say.
I think I'm gonna start posting in threads about sedans and hatchbacks. "WTF another hatchback lol why"
Looks pretty cool to me. If it is like a Mazda5 with sliders on each side, that would be great. People really like the Mazda5 and it'd be good for a little competition.

If you buy the S2k, TCL will crown you emporer and sacrefice GTi in your name against crubs and bricks.

It doesn't look like it will - the rear doors will probably open normally. Basically, this is a new HHR with Mazda5 interior volume and Traverse looks.

how many people on here would actually buy a GM minivan anyways....i have no idea why someone who calls themself a car enthusiast would actually want to be responsible for posting info on new MINIVANS!!!
well i guess he/she doesnt consider themselves car enthusiasts.
Thanks for sharing. Believe it or not, though, some people have lives that require something other than a knackered two-door Volkswagen coupe. This may be because they have children, or, in my own example, their enthusiasm for camping, road-tripping, climbing, backpacking, and exploring is far stronger than their affection for impractical sports cars, or whatever the hell you think a car enthusiast should own.

just my opinion.
That's kind of my feeling reading your post--I'm not sure why you would be posting on a car enthusiast forum, either, considering you own a Coraddo and probably spend the vast majority of your time taking the bus.
To me this is a Mini MPV not a Mini CUV. It will give the Mazda5 and Kia Rondo some competition. Is this the replacement for the Opel Zafira? And will the US be getting it?

It is funny... people who drive anything expensive often get labled by folks who drive less expensive cars. I have found, without exception, that douchebags cover all demographics and incomes. You can be an douchebag in a Echo or an Escalade.

Not exactly--it'll be sold as a Chevrolet in Europe, with Opel getting its own version. That version may come here as a Saturn, but that's not a done deal yet. And yes, this will be sold here as a Chevrolet.

That's cold.
