This is the official press release info, but no pictures have been released. Motive's opinion here:
Volkswagen released a press release today for two SEMA cars debuting this week, but unfortunately no images were included. As such, we're going to speculate. The first is a Jetta TDI Cup "Street" edition, and the appearance package will be offered through dealers with the car costing $26,995. It doesn't include any performance mods to the 140-hp turbo-diesel engine, and we're projecting that the exterior kit will make it look like the TDI racer you see here, only without the stickers.
The second car, the TIguan Performance concept, uses a stage three Turbo kit to extract 312 hp and 319 lb-ft from the 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine. That's about all we know, except that our VWvortex.com sister site happened to photograph an official Volkswagen car with those same performance attributes (and bigger wheels) at a recent VW enthusiast event. We're unsure whether anything has been done to the car since, but click through for a bigger picture to get an idea of what it'll look like.

So does anyone else finally get why we wanted a Tiguan with manual and AWD?

Ive had the pleasure of driving the living hell out of the tiguan concept at H20 and it was a blast. I've seen all the offerings from VW at SEMA and I was very happy with the results.
The Tiguan has undergone a nice subtle makeover which I'm sure everyone will see shortly.

Raining Blood is one of those songs where it comes on the system and people KNOW you mean business. it's not like some emo/R&B/top 40 dreck: it's a SERIOUS tune reserved for only the BEST of parties.
This Tiguan has an automatic transmission and AWD. The transmission was the limiting factor in the amount of power being produced without the trans spitting it's internals onto the ground. I feel that the power #'s are respectable when you take this into consideration. The Tiguan was a blast to drive.
hmm, i'd like to see more pics. the CC "hi def" kit if thats what that might be, doesnt look bad at all
all that work, and no one has come up with some horizontal-slat style tail-lights for it? the rounds just don't fit with everything else going on, imho.

No, I still do not understand this entire class of vehicle. Why would people PAY MORE at the time of purchase AND throughout the ownership cycle to get a vehicle that performs worse in all dynamic categories and has LESS USEABLE SPACE than a comparable compact wagon.

"So we're going to take a Tiguan and bump up the power, add some meaty brakes, lower the suspension and apply more aggressive body styling... Anything we forgot?"

have to say thats the one part of the car I dont like. Looks more like an afterthought in the styling department.

When do we get to see the official shots of that CC!
press release:
2008 SEMA: VOLKSWAGEN CC ECO PERFORMANCE CONCEPT
311 HP Super CC ups the performance ante in luxury for the people
LAS VEGAS – Powerful performance meets luxury in the Super CC performance concept Volkswagen unveiled at the 2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
The Performance CC brings a sleek exterior treatment highlighted by black chrome exterior accents, grey pearl paint with custom front and rear bumper, side panels and machined aluminum spoiler. The black treatment continues inside with high-gloss piano black accents offset by matte black graphics. Customer black leather Recaro seats and matching floor mats are highlighted with white piping.
While the Performance CC looks striking, the upgrades will get hearts racing, the 2.0L TSI engine has been upgraded with an APR stage 3 turbocharger system with three performance levels. In Full Power mode the Performance CC brings 311 hp and 313 lbs. ft. torque; GT mode offers 252 hp and 268 lbs. ft. of torque; and in the Eco mode 222 hp and 236 lbs. ft. of torque. Also included is the APR stainless steel performance exhaust system. Key fact to take note of is that in the Eco performance mode, horsepower went up, as well as fuel economy. A production 2.0T CC automatic gets 28 hwy/19 city and our CC in Eco mode gets 33 hwy, 27 city. Even the full power mode showed a fuel economy increase!
The Performance CC sits on custom designed 10-spoke, 20-inch wheels and high performance 245/30 R20 Yokahama tires with an H&R street coil over sport suspension kit. With all this power to handle, Volkswagen has upgraded the brakes to provide extra power to stop. The Performance CC features 14-inch Brembo brakes with 4-piston Aluminum Alloy Brake Calipers and 355x32mm 2-Piece Floating Cross Drilled Discs with Billet Aluminum Hats.
The Performance CC was designed by the Volkswagen Design Center in California with assistance from APR, LLC (www.goapr.com), Recaro, H&R Suspension and Brembo North America.
