Everything I know about diagnosing the addled mind comes from watching Woody Allen movies, so I'm no expert. But it's clear that Arnd Meyer and his colleagues at Mercedes-AMG are as mad as March hares.
It's not just that Meyer, senior manager of vehicle dynamics at Mercedes' skünkwerks, is quick to flash the mile-wide smile of someone who hears punch lines to untold jokes, talks as if he's about to bust out of a Looney Toon, or drives, as he gleefully admits, "a little bit crazy." Nope, the clearest sign of Meyer's marginal hold on reality is the company he keeps in the company where he works: AMG, Mercedes-Benz's Haus für die Unheilbare Geschwindigkeitsmissbildung (Home for the Incurable Performance Freak).
For the most part. If memory serves, it's also the cucumber capital of Japan. Hence the home-market ads for the FT-86 featuring Takeichi-kun, the cartoon cucumber whose meteoric rise through the underground drift world has shamed him in the eyes of his school-master.
Drifting, which tends to attract poorer, more marginal men, has also been an unlikely nexus between homosexuality, crime and jihadism since it emerged 30 years ago. Homoerotic desire is a constant theme in songs and poems about drifting, and accomplished drifters are said to have their pick of the prettiest boys among the spectators.
You guys just started motive-mag so you could drive these kinds of cars... didn't you.
"We be jammin' now, mon!" Billy said, toasting The Breeze with a slosh of the Coors. The Breeze shook his head balefully. "Keep the can down, watch the road, let me roll the doobie," he said. "Sorry, Breeze," Billy said. "I'm just stoked that we're on the road."
Joe Rogan on Kellogg's dropping Michael Phelps:I mean, do you guys ever think about what you sell? Pop tarts? Are you kidding me? I would be willing to bet that 50% of the people buying pop tarts are stoned out of their ****ing minds ... There’s nothing quite like being stoned out of your mind at 2am watching a Chuck Norris movie and eating a bowl of fruit loops.
I am guessing you guy picked it up from the ST Regis here in SF? I walked by there about 7:15 Sunday Morning. There were 5 of them parked out front... I had to double back to check my eyes.
Also, a couple weeks ago I saw 11 Rolls Phantoms there. In coupe, sedan, and convertible form.

Everything about it looks so glued-on to me. To start with, the SL to me is a luxo cruiser for the beach boulevards or a GT cruiser tops. They made it into a friggin supercar. Then the looks: home-made looking fender flares, tuner bodykit, etc. And the engine, they took the biggest engine you can find and bolted a couple of turbos onto it.

Fender flares - Needed to accommodate size the of wheel needed in order to put some of that power to the ground
Tuner body kit - Legitimate aerodynamics in play here. This is what the tuners try to copy put into actual practice
Engine - Bolted on a couple of turbos? This isn't like an American motor that has one function like a chainsaw. There is some serious precision going on under that hood. I can't really see what you're seeing, but ok.
What I'm trying to say is that everything, while probably very purposeful, looks glued-on to me. IMO they should've made a completely new car from scratch, not stretch the SL that far.

as for the Boster, HELL NO, i chose a volvo s60 over a boxter (when i had to chose between the two as a daily car) cuz honestly i don't consider the boxter to be a porsh (to me it's ugly and very slow, it's just for the name people buy it. )
What an amazing car! Benz has never been a big player in the Manual industry in recent years, I'm not supprised.

ill never understand how you could expect to sell a car for $300,000 and not offer any choice in transmission...
The "base" SL65 has over 730lb/ft of torque. Add even more, and how stout do you think that clutch is going to have to be to get that power to the tires? You can't use both legs to push the pedal so an automatic is about the only way you can go.

Seriously? SERIOUSLY?

Well, they're not exactly building it for you. They're building it for their customer base, who all wanted a little more height and a little more rear seat room. They're not buying the ***** so that people who have no intention of actually buying one can approve of them while rolling by in their VW's

My truck puts down 1750 ftlbs of torque, and my clutch is as smooth as my MKIII Vr6. Then again my clutch plate is 15in in diameter
